FFMA Chief Executive, Alun Tucker, attended a Service of Dedication at Babworth Crematorium which took place on Thursday June 6th, and was well attended by local Funeral Directors, Clergy and Funeral Celebrants as well as senior representatives of Professional organisations from the Bereavement sector.
Babworth Crematorium performed its first service in August 2018 and has already established a reputation for offering the highest standards of service to Bereaved families from across the local area. The crematorium is a convenient choice for the residents of Retford, Worksop, and much of the North Nottinghamshire area.
Set in more than 20 acres of grounds, nestled in the countryside of Bassetlaw, Babworth Crematorium provides families with all the time and facilities they need to hold a dignified and private funeral. Hourly Service – intervals allow sufficient time between cremation Services, avoiding the bottlenecks that can affect other crematoria and ensuring that each service is afforded the dignity it deserves enabling it to be a unique and personal event.
The Bishop talked about how beneficial the new crematorium will be to the local community and how every Funeral Service is an individual occasion for the families and emphasised how the bereaved can draw comfort from the beautiful and spacious natural surroundings.
After the Ceremony the congregation gathered in a Marquee in the grounds which was bathed in warm sunshine, for refreshments. Many of the guests were taken on a guided tour of the buildings which included an opportunity to see behind the scenes.
