Wegnalls Willow Coffins

Product Description:

The Wegnalls Willow coffin has two round ends, an integrated solid base and two or three handles on each side.
The lid is woven around the solid wood centre. It fits securely onto the coffin with a plait and is attached with eight hand carved willow toggles.
The unbleached calico lining is stitched to the inside of the coffin and lid, with a waterproof lining on the back.

Unique Product Features:

All Wegnalls Willow coffins are woven by hand on our farm in Herefordshire. From the base to the lining, each coffin is handmade with the utmost care and attention.
This coffin can be woven with a variety of willow, from willow with its bark on (homegrown in Herefordshire) to stripped willow (grown in Somerset), to create different colour combinations and customisation.
The lid has an integrated solid wood centre which the willow is inserted then woven around. It is finished with a willow plait around the edge.
The fastening toggles are handmade, carved willow and attached with British wool cord.
Available with 4 or 6 handles with different rope options, including sisal or woollen rope which is sustainably sourced from British farms.
The coffin is woven using natural products and no plastic or metal are used.
